ISR MUSIC MAGAZINE - "RUSH IN RIO"

Rush in Rio is a VERY special DVD.

The bonus disc explains the back story to this amazing once-in-a-lifetime concert, and the sound and video quality is crystal clear.

The camera work, camera angles, and lighting and staging is perfect and pristine.

In their long storied history RUSH never toured South America, so Brazil waited 30 years for this show.

RUSH was formed in Toronto as a rock power trio in the 1970's, and the legendary progressive rockers did not disappoint their fans throughout their storied career.

RUSH sold 40 million records and were awarded 24 gold, 14 platinum, and 3 multi-platinum albums by the RIAA.

The Canadian band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994, and inducted into the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

The bonus disc shows them as a veteran band deep in retirement.

They basically were coming out of six years of retirement just for one more album and tour. "Vapor Trails" was their seventeenth studio album.

This DVD, filmed in Rio de Janeiro, was shot during the "Vapor Trails" tour, the band's first concert tour in six years.

And boy they were wired up! RUSH totally showed why they are RnR HALL OF FAMERS, and arguably ROCK's greatest POWER TRIO of all time.

Their lyrics, a futuristic mix of science fiction, fantasy, and the writings of innovative philosopher and female novelist Ayn Rand, fits their fast hi-tech jazz-rock fusion perfectly.

They are known for instrumental precision, passion, and for intentionally matching many of the famous drum fills and guitar solos from their famous hit records in their live show. They are also known for using synthesizers and MIDI controllers to trigger sounds and layer textures as they play their primary instrument.

In Rio RUSH played 29 songs during the three immaculate, exhausting sets, lasting a total of 3 hours in one night! The rabid 'RUSH in Rio' audience of 60,000 knew every word to every RUSH song.

Enjoying the crowd reactions during the show is one of the highlights of watching the concert DVD. The fans were in ecstasy!

Boy were they starving for some RUSH! "Concert Hall!"

This DVD concert should not be missed.

For all Rock music fans of Classic-Progressive Heavy Metal.

This is a very special viewing and listening experience.
